As the daughter of a father who was in a touring classic rock cover band and mother who was a also a singer, WENDY grew up with music all around her. She was even named after the Beach Boys song "Wendy". Call it destiny, coincedence or what have you, music has always has been a major part of her life.
Her mother still recalls her coming home from kindergarten and inviting her to come hear her sing. Her father remembers the constant humming at the dinner table. Those were the moments that would pave the way to WENDY being involved in every talent show and school chorus up until her senior year of high school. At that point she had performed a few gigs with her father, had done numerous showcases in the area and was a regular for 2 seasons on the TV show Dance Party USA. It was then that she knew that this was what she was meant to do with her life.
After graduation she began going to clubs to see different artists perform. Given the chance, she would sing for any and everyone, she just wanted to be heard. Notorious for pulling people in the ladies room and singing for them, this is something that people remembered. Sound a bit strange? Not to WENDY it didn't, it wasnt so loud in there and the acoustics were great.
That was 1994. That was also the year that she met her first producer, Willie Valentin. His first words to her.... "Hey aren't you the Wendy that sings for everyone in the bathroom"! Surprised with the excitement of even being acknowledged for her prior, wacky choice of stage, yet mortified at the same time, she admitted that she indeed was "that" WENDY. Shortly after she was invited to New York to audition for his new label Artistik Records.
That same year WENDY signed with Artistik Records, becoming the first female artist on the label. She co-wrote her first single with Michael Anthony Bertot entitled "I Know" which appears on Freestyle Parade Vol.1. Soon after the two colaborated on Wendy's follow up single,"I Want You Back" . The single gained great reviews and ended up on Freestyle Parade Vol.2. Three more singles were to follow during her duration with Artistik Records, "It's Over", "The Rest of My Life" and a cover of the Bee Gee's "If I Can't Have You".
Shortly after leaving Artistik Records in 1999, WENDY teamed up with Chris "In the Mix" Sammarco and recorded a hard hitting Dance track entitled "Sending Out My Heart" which was immediately picked up by Diesel Groove Records. Unfortunately, the label never released the single. Neither Chris or WENDY were ready to throw in the towel just yet. They both took a break and after a year or so went back into the studio to record a song that Chris penned, entitled "Pray For the Love". Extreme Records picked up the single which included remixes by both Mike Rizzo and Georgie Porgy.
In 2004, WENDY linked up with Mickey Garcia of Micmac Records and recorded her own version of The Carpenters "Home For the Holidays" which appeared on Micmac's Dance Through The Holidays compilation cd.
In late September 2006, Joe Zangie asked WENDY if she wanted to do a duet with him for his upcoming album. They began coming up with ideas for the song and when WENDY showed him some lyrics she had written a few years back, it was pretty much a done deal. Minor changes were made since the song wasn't originally written as a duet. The final product, "When I Want You Back" along with two other songs WENDY has written for his album "Timeline", which is due out later this year.
Now, WENDY is excited to back in the studio recording all new Dance music tracks. Her latest single, a cover of Air Supply's "Even The Nights Are Better", produced by Rob Federici and remixed by Julian Marsh, is currently tearing up dance floors through out the country! Having already performed it at Pride events and nite clubs across the U.S., and seeing the crowds reaction, it is destined to be one of this years biggest dance anthems.
Already touring and having shared the stage with dance divas Jenna Drey, Alyson, American Idol's Kimberly Locke, and Frenchie Davis just to name a few, WENDY is back and her vocals are stronger than ever! Although she is focusing more towards Dance music, WENDY will never stray far from her Freestyle roots, WENDY is doing what she loves. She continues to record and currently has many exciting projects in the works. Wendy is also gearing up for a fall CD Release Party Tour with Grammy nominated DJ/Producer Julian Marsh.
